Orthodontic Therapy and Braces for All Ages
Enjoying a properly aligned smile can boost your self-confidence and improve your dental health. At Shoreline Dental Care, we provide a variety of orthodontic solutions for your family to choose from.
The alignment of your teeth is directly associated with problems like:
- Sleep apnea
- TMJ disorder
- Periodontal (gum) disease
- Tooth decay
- Worn, chipped, broken teeth
No matter your age, it’s never too late to enjoy a healthier, straighter smile. You’ll likely wish that it’s something you invested in years ago.
To meet the diverse needs of our patients’ concerns, budgets, and priorities, Shoreline Dental Care offers the following types of braces to choose from:
Invisalign Braces for Adults and Teens
These removable aligners are made of crystal-clear materials so that nobody else has to know you’re straightening your teeth. Plus, it makes it easier to enjoy all of your favorite foods, not to mention brushing and flossing your teeth.
Most of our Invisalign patients have mild to moderate corrective needs. Some of them have even worn braces in the past, but experienced relapse as the years have gone by.
If you decide to wear removable braces, you can expect to have to keep them in for about 20+ hours per day, and stop by our office every six to eight weeks to pick up your newer aligners.
Short Term Orthodontics
Have you ever heard someone refer to “fast braces?” Short term ortho is a type of cosmetic braces that straighten the teeth at the front of your mouth… the ones that are visible when you smile. As such, it takes up far less time to align everything into place. Most of our short term ortho patients complete their smile straightening process in just about six months.
Although they do require the use of fixed appliances, short term braces come in cosmetic options like tooth-colored brackets. As such, they’re far less noticeable on your teeth.
Adults and children of all ages can benefit from comprehensive braces when they’re looking for more complex or affordable treatment.
We recommend an orthodontic evaluation on all children, starting around age seven. At this stage of oral development, we can begin to determine whether or not any type of interceptive techniques can improve anatomical concerns related to jaw and tooth alignment.
Healthy Start and DNA Appliances
Even at a fairly young age, some children experience oral anatomy that impacts their ability to speak or sleep comfortably. Oral appliances such as the Healthy Start program and DNA system can encourage proper orofacial development and limit the extent of orthodontic treatment that is needed as the child grows.
