Lasers work by producing a beam of concentrated light. The light beam sterilizes soft tissue and seals blood vessels, minimizing the risk of infection and excessive bleeding.
Lasers maximize patient comfort because they are minimally invasive. For example, the Waterlase dental laser removes dental decay with no shot, no drill, and no pain in most cases. Because the Waterlase uses a combination of laser energy and water, which eliminates the heat and vibrations of a dental drill, anesthesia is not usually warranted. If you need gum therapy, our Periolase laser will greatly enhance the re-growth of healthy tissue around your teeth and efficiently remove the bacteria responsible for gum disease.
